Alberta Beef Producers (ABP) supports a variety of contests, awards, scholarships, and recognition programs that celebrate individual and community achievements in the Alberta beef industry.
Environmental Stewardship Award
Alberta Beef Producers is now accepting nominations for the 2026 Environmental Stewardship Award (ESA)!
Presented annually, the ESA goes to a cattle producer or operation that exemplifies environmentally sustainable cattle production.
Alberta cattle producers nominate their peers for this award, which has become one of the most prestigious in the industry. A panel of representatives from conservation and agriculture assess the candidates, examining the stewardship goals and activities of the nominees including land management, water quality, wildlife, animal welfare and leadership activities in the community related to stewardship.
Young Creators
Thank you to everyone who has contributed to the success of our Young Creators contest. The contest is an opportunity for beef cattle enthusiasts 23 and under to showcase their creativity, passion, and knowledge of the beef industry. With tailored challenges and amazing prizes, this contest is designed to inspire and engage the next beef industry leaders.

4-H Scholarships
ABP is proud to sponsor six 4-H scholarships, one awarded to a 4-H member from each of the five ABP zones, plus a sixth wild card recipient.
Each recipient, in their second, third, or fourth year of post-secondary study, receives $750 for their exceptional academic achievement, leadership and communication skills, and community involvement.
This scholarship program is open to past or present 4-H Beef project members in Alberta with at least three years of membership.
