Alberta Beef Producers, a non-profit organization, provides financial and in-kind support to events having the potential to increase beef sales, enhance industry image and/or strengthen the Alberta Beef brand while positively impacting the everyday lives of Albertans. That means supporting beef and cattle-related events, organizations, and/or education.
Although ABP is not able to help all groups seeking funding, it continues its long history of aiding those that meet current criteria.
Alberta Beef Producers is a proud to sponsor 4-H through scholarships, radio advertisements of local achievement days, and grassroots support for districts.
For the 2024–2025 4-H year, districts can apply for $200 in funding to support any scheduled district-level event that benefits local members. Applications must include the event’s function and date. Funding is awarded on a first-come, first-served basis and is jointly provided by ABP zone and staff budgets.
We ask supported districts to share a social media post highlighting their activity. To apply, email Tanya McLellan (tanyam@albertabeef.org) by July 31, 2025.
Please note: the application process will change for the 2025–26 4-H year — follow our website and social media for updates.
ABP is proud to support youth sports through our partnership with the Alberta Schools Athletic Association. While we focus our contributions on this initiative, we encourage individual sports groups to explore other funding opportunities.

ABP does not have, store, handle nor have access to actual beef product. Beef product for charity events is best sourced from organizations such as local grocery store chains, Alberta meat packers and large food service suppliers. ABP does, however, provide other types of support.
ABP can and does supply funding support to some events meeting the above criteria. However, given the large number of requests we receive annually, even those initiatives that meet the above criteria may be declined because of financial constraints.
For those events not needing nor qualifying for financial support, ABP is able to provide promotional merchandise, and in some instances, expert speakers. Merchandise may be supplied to vetted community events provided the applicant applies in writing (on-line, email or by fax) two weeks before the event. Merchandise items refers to premium corporate gifts such as BBQ sets, steak knives and carving sets generally used for door prizes and silent auction items. Speaker requests must have a one-month lead time.
