21(1) A shortage in veterinarians threatens the long-term sustainability of the beef industry and therefore must be addressed by:

• allowing veterinary assistants or registered veterinary technologists to expand their scope of practice.
• increasing the number of veterinary positions with a production animal focus in veterinary colleges available to Alberta residents.
• supporting opportunities to ensure production animal veterinarians trained in other jurisdictions can practice in Canada
