Alberta renewable energy projects are not required to adhere to the same robust standards of approval as
traditional energy projects or intensive livestock operations as it relates to their impacts on the environment neighboring landowners.

Be it Resolved

ABP lobby the Provincial Government to strengthen the regulatory oversight on renewable energy projects.

March 2024 Update:

ABP Chair and Western Stock Growers’ Association President sent a letter on renewable energy in the beef industry to Honourable Nathan Neudorf, Minister of Affordability and Utilities, Government of Alberta. The letter emphasizes the need for clear regulation to protect beef producers and agricultural communities.
