Kaley has spent her career encouraging and supporting producer adoption of best management practices that support stewardship of the land and their operations’ bottom line. In her role with ABP, Kaley continues that work with a focus on wildlife-related issues that impact producers, and growing the VBP+ program in the province. She worked closely with VBP+ during her tenure as the Certified Sustainable Beef Framework Manager at the Canadian Roundtable for Sustainable Beef.
Kaley farms with her husband and son JT north of Rimbey.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate all aspects of on-farm producer audits for Alberta – Verified Beef Production Plus.
- Delivers VBP+ training to producers, promotes the VBP+ program and associated incentives, communicates with producers that wish to become certified, and supports producers when required for renewal follow-up.
- Liaises with industry and government working groups and committees representing beef producers’ priorities in stewardship.
- Coordinates work on wildlife files as they relate the beef industry and ABP.
