Debra has an extensive background in agriculture news media and developing relevant, engaging content for producer audiences. She grew up on a mixed farm and has a degree in agriculture from the University of Alberta. Debra ranches alongside her family in central Alberta.
Responsibilities:
- Manages stakeholder-facing communications initiatives, including oversight of ABP Daily, the Monthly Minute, and social media channels.
- Oversees the planning and delivery of major organizational events, including ABP Producer Meetings, the Annual General Meeting (AGM), and the annual summer event for delegates, ensuring effective engagement and alignment with organizational goals.
- Serves as the Commission’s Chief Returning Officer, managing nominations, elections, and governance-related voting processes.
- Provides leadership and strategic direction to the Engagement and Digital Content Specialist and Media and Digital Content Specialist.
